About our Pastor

George Earl Murdaugh

    Pastor George E. Murdaugh came to Prince of Peace Lutheran Church February 2013 after nearly 40 years of ministry in Arkansas, Mississippi, Louisiana and Georgia.  He is a graduate of the University of Dallas where he earned his B.A., M.Div. and M.Th.  He continued his theological and pastoral training at Concordia Seminary in St. Louis, MO.  Pastor Murdaugh has involved himself in the broader work of mission and outreach throughout his ministry. 
    He is leading Prince of Peace along with lay leaders in its outreach, “Every One His Witness.”  Since 2004 he has been the CFO of the Chirala Medical and Educational Trust, Inc. doing medical, educational and evangelistic ministry among poor Hindu, Muslim and Christian people of Andhra Pradesh in eastern India.  Pastor Murdaugh is an experienced, bilingual (Spanish) teacher and preacher.  He was a secondary school teacher in both public and Christian schools for 8 yrs. before becoming a full-time pastor.
    His Bible teaching continues in the parish setting, in missions abroad and in the Atlanta area.  In his 28 years in Georgia, he has served as Florida/Georgia District LCMS Circuit Visitor for Circuits 1 and 3 for more than 10 years; and on various boards and committees of the FL/GA District, and is a Church Reconciler with the Missouri Synod.  
    Pastor Murdaugh is married to Teresa and they have three grown children, Donna, Nathan, and Austin.
